Andrew A. Kimler, a partner at the Lake Success-based law firm Vishnick
McGovern Milizio LLP, focuses his practice in the areas of employment,
commercial and corporate law, representing individuals and businesses
in federal and state trial and appellate courts and before arbitration
tribunals. He also heads VMM’s Alternate Dispute Resolution practice
group. His employment cases have included wage and hour, discrimination,
trade secret and restrictive covenant disputes. An experienced litigator,
he also handles complex contract, partnership and other business disputes.

Mr. Kimler’s representation of a high profile LGBT wrongful termination
case garnered widespread media attention on television, in newspapers
and across the Internet – including an investigative reporter’s
interview on WABC-TV. He has written and lectured extensively before professional
associations, symposiums and other forums, including the Long Island Chapter
of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners, on wage and hour, discrimination
and other employment matters, as well as criminal and matrimonial law topics.
In 2016, Mr. Kimler was appointed to the United States District Court,
Eastern District of New York, Mediation Panel. He also is a court-appointed
mediator for the Commercial Divisions of the State Supreme Court in Queens
and Nassau Counties. In this role, he assists in improving communication
across party lines, identifies areas of agreement and helps parties to
generate a mutually agreeable resolution to their disputes. Mediation
provides an opportunity to explore a wide range of potential solutions
and to address interests that may be outside the scope of the stated controversy
or which could not be addressed by judicial action.
Mr. Kimler has been named a New York Metro Area Super Lawyer in 2013, 2014
and 2015 by Super Lawyers, a publication of The New York Times. He is
admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the United States Supreme
Court, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District
Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District
of New Jersey. Mr. Kimler is a board member of the Brandeis (Lawyers)
Association and a member of the Korean Bar. In addition, he is a member
of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations’ Labor
and Employment Law and Commercial Litigation committees. Mr. Kimler received
his Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University, where he was an
associate editor for the Ohio Northern University Law Review. He graduated
with honors from Queens College of the City University of New York, having
received honors in political science and where he was a member of the
National Political Science Honor Society.
