Dennis Lyons, Esq., a Long Island native, is an associate in the Commercial Litigation and Employment Law Practice Groups at Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP.
Mr. Lyons’ responsibilities include drafting motions and pleadings; court appearances and conferences; and settlement negotiations. In the area of Employment Law, he deals with wage and hour, and Fair Labor Standards Act issues. He handles litigation matters between and within businesses, including partner/shareholder disputes.
Additionally, Mr. Lyons lends support to the VMM Family Institute with matters which include divorce, child custody and support, and spousal maintenance. His involvement with the firm’s Trusts and Practice Group focuses on Surrogate Court petitions, objections to probate, and trust and estate administration.
Mr. Lyons volunteers his time with Ronald McDonald House of Long Island in New Hyde Park, NY and Catholic Charities, Diocese of Rockville Centre, based in Hicksville, NY. He is a member of the Chaminade Long Island Businessmen's Association.
The recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Science and minor in Finance from Providence College, Mr. Lyons earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law. While at St. John’s, he served as a legal intern at Vishnick McGovern Milizio. He is a member of the Nassau County and Queens County Bar Associations, as well as the Young Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association and the St. John’s University School of Law Alumni Association.
