Constantina S. Papageorgiou is a partner in the Trust and Estate Practice
at Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP, with experience in the areas of estate
planning, estate administration and elder law. She joined Vishnick McGovern
Milizio as an associate on August 12, 2013 and was promoted to partner
effective December 1, 2018.
In her estate planning and elder law capacity, Ms. Papageorgiou assists
individuals and their families with asset protection and long-term care
planning with the use of advance directives and various planning techniques.
She also provides legal counsel to individuals and families with the administration
of estates and the liquidation of assets after one's death.
An active member of the Queens County Bar Association, Queens County Women's
Bar Association, and the Trust and Estates and Elder Law Sections of the
New York State Bar Association, Ms. Papageorgiou serves as a board member
of HANAC (formerly known as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action
Committee), the Hellenic Lawyers Association and St. Demetrios of Astoria Alumni.
Ms. Papageorgiou frequently conducts educational elder law and estate planning
seminars for community organizations in both the Greek and English languages,
with the goal of enlightening and motivating individuals to engage in
estate, tax and Medicaid planning for the protection of themselves and
their assets. She also has a particular focus on estate planning for young families.
Ms. Papageorgiou is licensed to practice law in New York State. She earned
her Juris Doctor degree from St. John's School of Law and her Bachelor's
degree from Stony Brook University with a major in Political Science and
minor in International Studies. She attended St. Francis Preparatory School
in Fresh Meadows and St. Demetrios Elementary School in Astoria.
A native New Yorker, Ms. Papageorgiou’s parents emigrated from Cyprus
and are the well-known proprietors of Zenon Taverna, where she frequently
can be found working with her family. Her husband Joseph Alexander, whom
she met at St. John’s, is an attorney who practices medical malpractice
defense. They reside with their children in Astoria.
