The Nassau County Bar Association and Nassau Suffolk Law Services' Volunteer Lawyers Project is an "innovative pro bono program to expand the availability of legal services to Nassau County residents in need." Participating attorneys volunteer their time and expertise by providing free legal services, including counsel and representation.

Mr. Trotti has been volunteering with the NCBA Volunteer Lawyers Project continuously for 19 years. He previously received the "Access to Justice" award in 2021, for his many hours of dedication and successful representation.

Mr. Trotti's pro bono work on behalf of the Lawyers Project has involved divorce and custody cases, ranging from document reviews to settlement negotiations to arguments before the Court.

"I derive immense satisfaction from my work for the Project, helping improve the lives of my fellow Long Islanders and giving back to my community," Mr. Trotti said in his acceptance statement. "I approach my pro bono work with the same enthusiasm and dedication as my other cases, and intend to continue volunteering for as long as I practice law."

Mr. Trotti heads VMM's Litigation Department and the Matrimonial and Family Law practice. He is the founding partner of the VMM Family InstituteSM. He is also a key member of the firm’s Surrogacy, Adoption, and Assisted Reproduction and LGBTQ Representation practices.
